RACING Queensland (RQ) is pleased to announce that Allan Reardon has been appointed Chief Stipendiary Steward of Queensland thoroughbred racing.

Allan brings to the role over 20 years of experience having fulfilled senior roles in thoroughbred racing administration throughout Australia.

Allan's senior stewarding career commenced in 1995 when he was appointed to the role of Deputy Chief Steward of Queensland thoroughbred racing.  After serving a successful term as Metropolitan Chief Steward in Queensland, Allan was employed as a senior steward on the New South Wales panel before relocating to Victoria to serve a term as Deputy Chief Steward for Racing Victoria.

RQ CEO Darren Condon expressed his delight at the appointment of Allan to this very important role.

"Allan's experience and understanding of thoroughbred racing is second to none and I have no doubt that Allan has the skills and leadership qualities required to succeed in the position," Mr Condon said.

"This role brings with it great responsibility and Allan has a professional history to illustrate that he is worthy of this leadership position."

Mr Reardon is enthusiastic to take the reins of the thoroughbred stewarding panel and is looking forward to being the Chairman of Stewards in Queensland.

"I have had a lot of other roles in racing and as a proud Queenslander I am delighted to be leading the Queensland thoroughbred stewarding panel forward," said Mr Reardon.
