by TERRY BUTTS of the NQ REGISTER

RECENT Doomben winner French Lesson from the North Queensland stable of Glen Baker has returned a positive to cobalt.

Chief steward Alan Reardon notified Baker  by phone yesterday morning and told him the horse had returned a reading 'well over the threshold limit'.

Baker said he was stunned.

“All I gave my horse was a shot of VAM and vitamin you can buy anywhere.

“Something is really wrong somewhere,” said the trainer.

He has  no idea when he will be called to an inquiry 'but I know already the result'.

“They will chew me up and spit me out - make an example of me.

Änd on my mother's grave I did not give him anything illegal,” said Baker.
