THE Queensland All Codes Racing Industry Board (QACRIB) has today warned-off greyhound licensee Mr Peter Sykes following a show-cause hearing at Racing Queensland Headquarters.

As part of the deliberations, QACRIB Chairman Kevin Dixon noted that Mr Sykes had refused to co-operate with Racing Queensland Stewards investigating live-baiting in the industry.

“Based on the evidence provided to the Board, it was apparent that Mr Sykes had failed to co-operate with Stewards when initially contacted about the investigation and he has continued to refuse to co-operate in the period since,” Mr Dixon said.

“Mr Sykes has been warned-off for life and has been contacted and advised of his right to appeal.”

Two other licensees had their suspensions lifted following this morning’s hearings. 21 licensees have now been warned-off as part of Racing Queensland’s investigations.
