LUEN YAT FOREVER and GOOD CONTROL have departed the Macau Jockey Club heading to Melbourne for the Spring Carnival.

Macau Jockey Club Chief Executive, Mr Thomas Li, said: "This is the first time any Macau horses have travelled to Australia to race and it's a great opportunity for the owners and the MJC.

"Unfortunately their travel plans were delayed which may make it difficult for our Triple Crown winner Luen Yat Forever to qualify for the Cox Plate."

The horses left the Macau Jockey Club at 9am (local time) on Monday morning and travelled to Hong Kong to connect with an overnight flight to Melbourne.

Upon arrival the horses will be required to spend 14 days in Racing Victoria's Werribee Quarantine Centre.

"At this stage we will see how he travels, bout our intention is to run him in the Group 1 Toorak over 1600m on October 9, hopefully finishing in a position that will give him a start in the Cox Plate," Luen Yat Forever's owner, Mr Tony Chan, said.

Trainer Patrick Lee said: "We plan to start Good Control in the Gilgai Stakes over 1200m on October 2."
