THE Racing Queensland Limited board at its monthly meeting on March 26, 2013 committed to provide up to $150,000 of funding to the Mackay Turf Club to further investigate the development of oncourse stabling at Ooralea Park Racecourse.

The long term initiative to install oncourse stabling will assist the club to increase and secure the horse population for Mackay and the wider Leichardt region.

Mackay Turf Club president Ian Joblin looks forward to the construction of oncourse stabling at Ooralea Park.

“This infrastructure will assist to grow the horse population in the region, ensuring the future sustainability of the thoroughbred racing industry in the city of Mackay,” he said.
