SHEATHER AND FLETCHER TO SHARE ‘MASTER AND APPRENTICE’ ROLES

THE new Board of the Gold Coast Turf Club is tipped to today re-appoint Grant Sheather who was two years ago dumped as Chief Executive Officer.

Daniel Meers, writing in the Gold Coast Bulletin, reports that in a shock move Mr Sheather flew in from Hamilton Island last night and signed a three-year deal with the club.

In another shock move, the Bulletin reports that high profile Hawkesbury Race Club CEO Brian Fletcher will be appointed as a full-time adviser.

‘Mr Sheather and Mr Fletcher will work together in what chairman Andrew Eggleston last night described as a ‘master and apprentice’ role.

The shake-up comes after former CEO John Cameron resigned following upheaval in the Board when Mr Eggleston outsted Hoss Heinrich as chairman.

Mr Sheather, who has been working in the tourism industry on Hamilton Island, told the Bulletin he was surprised to be returning to the club.
