BIGGEST GO IN FIXED ODDS BETTING ON FEATURE RACES THIS SATURDAY

UNBEATEN mare Typhoon Tracy has been the best backed runner in any of the feature races in Australia tomorrow (Saturday) with most of the major betting organizations declaring her the one to beat in the Liston Stakes at Caulfield.

Since Fixed Odds betting opened Typhoon Tracy has shortened from $3 to $2.40 and could start even shorter with the trainers of her two main rivals, Whobegotyou and Heart of Dreams, warning that both will be improved by the run.

Trainer Peter Moody believes Typhoon Tracy can extend her unbeaten record to six in the $200,000 Group 2 weight-for-age Liston but is surprised by how short she is in the betting.

“This is her first time out of fillies and mares company and she is taking on a horse (Whotbegotyou) that arguably should have won the Doncaster and a conqueror of his in Heart of Dreams,” Moody said.

Typhoon Tracy will be having her first start since winning the G1 Coolmore Classic at Rosehill in March. “She's always been a perfectly-winded horse, so she's forward enough to win if she's good enough," Moody said.

Trainer Mark Kavanagh was far from confident about the winning prospects of Whobegotyou on racing radio in Melbourne today. But few can forget the star galloper’s brilliant comeback second and slashing sectional when first-up with 58.5kg last campaign.

The great problem confronting Whobegotyou in the Liston will be conceding a big start to Typhoon Tracy, which looks set to lead and dictate.

Trainer Mick Price also warned that Heart of Dreams would benefit greatly from a comeback run in the Liston, which has added to the confidence factor for those supporting the mare.

The two runners backed at odds to beat Typhoon Tracy in Fixed Odds betting are Predatory Pricer and Orange County. Predatory Pricer has trialed well for his first-up run while Orange County peaks and gets out to a more suitable trip.

Leading bookmaker Mark Read from IASbet.com described Typhoon Tracy as ‘an untapped excitement machine. She looks very well placed in this field and should prevail. She always exceeds her rating when required to step up to a higher class and her fresh form is outstanding.”

Read has taken a set against Whotbegotyou. “Racing out the back of this field at Caulfield is not his cup of tea. You may see a better horse second-up.”

Sean Bartholomew of RacingOdds.com.au says of Typhoon Tracy: “She’s the class sprinter in the Liston field and can keep her unbeaten record intact.”

Bartholomew regards the Queenslander, Phelan Ready, as the ‘lay of the day’ in the Premiere Stakes in Sydney, from which the second favorite, More Than Great, has been scratched to start in the Run to The Rose instead.

Triple Honour and Fritz’s Princess are now vying for second favoritism behind Phelan Ready, the $2.60 favorite, that trainer Jason McLachlan is confident can win especially with his lightweight in the $150,000 G2 Premiere.

Victorian Denman, rated the ‘lay of the day’ by Mark Read, has been heavily-backed from $4.50 to $3.80 favoritism for the Run to the Rose at Rosehill. “Denman has to concede weight to very good three-year-olds off the back of winter wins in Melbourne,” Read said.

The biggest early go at Doomben tomorrow has been for the Pat Duff-trained mare Desdemona in the Origin Kebabs. She finished an eye-catching second first-up from a spell.
