QUEENSLAND INVADER BACKED FROM $8 TO $4.60 IN FIXED PRICE BETTING

QUEENSLAND invader, COURT COMMAND, has been the best backed runner Australia-wide to win the Group 2 Warwick Stakes at Randwick tomorrow (Saturday).

TAB Sportsbet offered the best price of $8 when Fixed Price betting opened while plenty of $7 was available at corporate outlets. Court Command is now into $4.60 for the $150,000 weight-for-age feature.

Trainer Liam Birchley immediately dispatched Court Command to Sydney after his comeback win at Eagle Farm last week with 60.5kg. The six-year-old stallion had a stint at stud but returned to work for the Brisbane Winter and won the BTC Sprint at Doomben.

Two of the best judges in the country – Mark Read from IASbet.com and Sean Bartholomew from RacingOdds.com – have steered away from Court Command in their top choices for the Warwick Stakes.

Read thinks Racing To Win, a $5 chance, can win first-up with Corey Brown in the saddle. “The super grey gelding, with a 50 per cent winning strike rate, holds a significant class factor over the others and a repeat of his past rating at weight-for-age makes him very hard to beat.”

He believes that the Gai Waterhouse-trained Dreamscape should be longer than the current quote of $3.20. “I have rated the favorite a lot wider in my market and believe his current price is a severe case of unders.”

Read’s best bet of the day is Morgan Dollar, a $4 chance in the BC3 Future Stars Sprint at Moonee Valley and his lay of the day is the Lee Freedman-trained Wilander at $4.20 in the same race.

Sean Bartholomew does not agree with Reid’s assessment of Dreamscape in the Warwick Stakes and thinks the son of Choisir can win. “He’s suited at the 1400, drawn to get a ‘gun’ run. He’s up to this with the weight-for-age ranks in Sydney so thin at present.”

Bartholomew rates Carrara his bet of the day in the Nissan Stakes at Moonee Valley. His lay of the day is Swift Alliance at Randwick and he says the best backed with RacingOdds.com has been More Joyous.

The shortest priced favorite of the day across the country will be Black Caviar at $1.22 in the first at Moonee Valley. Trainer Peter Moody, who will saddle up unbeaten filly in the Arrow Training Services Plate, could not be more confident.
