RESTRICTED THREE-YEAR-OLD VALUED AT $100,000 ON OCTOBER 25

SALE Turf Club is pleased to announce the running of country Victoria’s richest Three-Year-Old restricted race – the GPG Inglis Trophy race valued at $100,000.

The race is for three year olds 0-82 class over 1400 metres and restricted to horses nominated for the lucrative $2.6 million Inglis Race Series. It will be run on Eastcoast Plumbtec Sale Cup Day, which is Sunday 25 October.

“We are delighted to be part of the Inglis Race Series and to provide owners the opportunity to compete for another $100,000 race at our blue riband event.  It certainly adds another string to the bow in addition to the $120,000 Eastcoast Plumbtec Sale Cup,” Sale Turf Club Chairman Thelma Coster said.

In a unique promotion the Sale Turf Club will auction an unbroken 2YO filly by Elvstroem from winning Royal Academy mare Terra Nova, who descends from the immediate family of Octagonal, Bonanova and Danewin. The filly will be auctioned between races on Sale Cup Day.  Elvstroem is the sire of the moment with Viking Legend and Carrara completing an interstate stakes double recently.

The filly is being prepared for sale by the breaker of Elvstroem Julian Welsh, who has offered the successful bidders a discount of $2000 off the normal breaking-in cost.

“We were thrilled earlier on when the Sale Turf Club became involved in the $100,000 Inglis Race Series with the new 3YO race on their Cup Day and to entrust us with the auctioning of this young filly on the day is gratifying,” Inglis Melbourne Director Peter Heagney said.

“The Sale Turf Club are very progressive and after being approached to secure a horse to auction we were lucky enough to obtain this lovely 2YO filly by Elvstroem who automatically becomes entry free into the lucrative $2.6 million Inglis Race Series.”
