RVL Chief Steward Terry Bailey is running out of patience with champion rider Glen Boss and his celebrations when winning a big race.

NEALE DONNELLEY reports for TVN that Boss is a rider of rare talent, balance and poise, and he loves to celebrate his wins on the winning post.

Yesterday at Mornington Boss was fined $1000 for standing up in his irons on Mornington Cup winner Tuscan Fire.

This morning Bailey said he was getting close to thinking about suspending repeat-offenders in this matter.

“Maybe in Glen Boss’ case a fine is not enough and a suspension is the next step, because he has a poor record in this matter,” Bailey told racingnetwork.

“This is not the first time we have fined Glen Boss $1000.

"It happened at Caulfield back in the Spring (winning on Ocean Park, Caulfield Stakes) but it doesn’t seem to be working,” Bailey added.

“Look, we support a bit of theatre out there, but when a rider stands straight-up in the irons before the post, it raises a safety issue as well as the potential for punters to find another way to do their money,” he added.
