NEW REVOLUTION IN RACING COVERAGE PROMISED
SKY RACING, the media division of Australia’s premier gambling and entertainment group Tabcorp, today announced a revolution in the presentation of Australian racing,in partnership with Subscription TV providers FOXTEL and AUSTAR.

RACING Victoria Limited (RVL) today announced that the recently released Metropolitan Club review conducted by Mr Lindsay Maxsted will form an important component of its analysis of the structure, cost and efficiency of racing administration in Victoria aimed at maximising returns to participants in the racing industry.
This analysis includes RVL, the three Metropolitan Clubs and Country Racing Victoria.
Regarding the recommendations contained in the Maxsted report, RVL makes the following comments:
KIRKLEES AND CIMA DE TRIOMPHE PRIMED FOR CUP START
LESS than two weeks out from the BMW Caulfield Cup the Godolphin and Luca Cumani stables are confident their runners Kirklees and Cima De Triomphe are on target for the race.
Although their trackwork has been limited to easy canters, there is no doubt Kirklees and Cima De Triomphe are winding up nicely for the race.
SPEED GIFTED MOVES UP ELMINATION ORDER FOR BIG CUPS
RACING Victoria Chief Handicapper, Greg Carpenter today issued a 2kg penalty to Speed Gifted in both the BMW Caulfield Cup and Emirates Melbourne Cup after his win in the Group 1 Metropolitan Handicap at Randwick on Saturday.
The penalty takes the Lee Freedman-trained six-year-old to 53kg in both races. It moves him
to equal 24th in the elimination order for the Caulfield Cup and 25th in order in the Melbourne
Cup.

RESTRICTED THREE-YEAR-OLD VALUED AT $100,000 ON OCTOBER 25
SALE Turf Club is pleased to announce the running of country Victoria’s richest Three-Year-Old restricted race – the GPG Inglis Trophy race valued at $100,000.
The race is for three year olds 0-82 class over 1400 metres and restricted to horses nominated for the lucrative $2.6 million Inglis Race Series. It will be run on Eastcoast Plumbtec Sale Cup Day, which is Sunday 25 October.

DENMAN, a third generation winner of the Stan Fox Stakes at Randwick, will try to follow in his father’s hoof steps in the $1,008,000 The Age Caulfield Guineas (1600m) at Caulfield on Saturday.
The last three-year-old to win the Stan Fox Stakes and the Caulfield Guineas in the same year was Denman’s dad Lonhro, in 2001 and Lonhro’s sire, Octagonal, won the Stan Fox Stakes in 1995 before finishing third in the Caulfield Guineas (to Our Maizcay).

GROUP 1 WIN EFFICIENT'S FIRST RACE SINCE 2007 MELBOURNE CUP
THE 2007 Melbourne Cup winner, Efficient, firmed to second favoritism for this year’s big two-miler with an upset win in the $500,000 G1 Turnbull Stakes, 2000m, at Flemington on Saturday.
Bookmakers reacted quickly to the win by Efficient firming him to $6 for the Melbourne Cup despite the fact that he had not won a race since his success almost two years ago.

IMPORTED galloper Speed Gifted claimed favoritism for the Caulfield and Melbourne Cups with a brilliant win in the $350,000 G1 Metropolitan, 2400m, at Randwick on Saturday.
Bookmakers reacted quickly promoting Speed Gifted to $4.50 favoritism for the Caulfield Cup despite the fact that a start in the big race still rests with what penalty he receives from the Racing Victoria handicapper.
