WE have devoted more space in this week’s Wednesday Whinge to the Gai Waterhouse – John Singleton – More Joyous saga and included some editorializing to go with your e-mails. There are also some interesting comments on the Federal Government’s failure to provide legislation that would help police and racing authorities to carry out investigations of a serious nature. The demise of the Eagle Farm track and plans to replace it with $10mn from Industry Infrastructure Funds attracted e-mails along with a number of other contentious and interesting topics. As usual we have we focus on our theme of THE GOOD, THE BAD & THE UGLY news of the past week.

WE have devoted a deal of space in this week’s Wednesday Whinge to the Gai Waterhouse – John Singleton – More Joyous saga and included some editorializing to go with your e-mails. The same applies to the decision to hold another Commission of Inquiry into Racing in Queensland. The bad blood between Robbie Heathcote and jockey Larry Cassidy prompted several e-mails entirely in support of the leading trainer. We decided to have our say on this one as well. There are numerous other contentious topics covered in a column that is quite different to the norm.

As usual we start the WEDNESDAY WHINGE with our popular feature: THE GOOD, THE BAD & THE UGLY SIDE OF RACING and again this week have decided to start with ‘The UGLY’ section because that was what dominated the headlines.

IT comes as no surprise that the John Singleton – Gai Waterhouse war of words dominated the e-mail box this week but there was plenty of comment as well on the Houdini performance by champion trainer Chris Waller with stewards blaming ‘contaminated feed’ for the champion trainer’s four positive swabs. There were a host of other issues from whether Australia should ban anabolic steroids to criticism of the appeal decision handed down in the family feud between jockey sisters, Nikita McLean and Jackie Beriman.

As usual we start the WEDNESDAY WHINGE with our popular feature: THE GOOD, THE BAD & THE UGLY SIDE OF RACING over the past week:
