ONCE again questions are being raised whether Racing Queensland is ‘playing games’ with TAB and non-TAB race meetings.
LGHR received another email from a concerned stakeholder on the Downs which reads:
‘Earlier this year I sent you a note regarding a list of Race Meetings posted by RQ that had their previous NON-TAB Status upgraded to TAB STATUS but curiously the prizemoney levels for this list remained at NON-TAB Status.
I read with interest recently in a post by one of your regular contributors, where he raised the exact same point regarding this subject as I had.
You may be interested to know, and if you are able to obtain an explanation why, the meeting programmed for this Saturday at Warwick, is the latest of that list to be granted TAB STATUS, yet will race for NON-TAB level prizemoney.
Obviously, nobody would begrudge these country race clubs their opportunity to be granted TAB STATUS, but you can’t have it both ways.
If you are racing at one of these TAB Meetings, I think your natural expectation would be that you would be entitled to be competing for TAB level prizemoney.
But then, I have been known to be wrong before. I will be interested to hear if you are able to get any sort of explanation from those responsible.’
EDITOR’S NOTE: We couldn’t agree more with your sentiments. But getting information out of RQ for a website like ours is like pulling teeth. They don’t recognise that we exist preferring to deal with the Murdoch Media, like ‘Big Ben’ Dorries who rarely criticises what they do.
