WHAT IS GOING ON WITH THE GOLD COAST TRACK THAT COST THE INDUSTRY PLENTY? IT’S TIME FOR SOME ANSWERS FROM RQ OR GCTC

PLENTY of questions are being asked about the state of the Gold Coast track and time is overdue for an update from Racing Queensland or Turf Club officials.

Stakeholders and punters are raising concerns about why meetings on the turf track are continually being transferred to the poly. That was the case last weekend when up the Bruce Highway at Doomben the turf track was in use for 10,000 Day.

They spent $100mn developing and correcting problems with this new track so how about a few answers?

It’s a bit like the new lighting that cost the industry plenty at the Gold Coast. Night racing is popular on the tourist strip but they hardly race under lights. Go figure! We’d love to hear a response on this from the GCTC.
