Butts upset an official of the Bowen club who apparently wanted him charged with bringing the industry into disrepute for daring to declare the track there is ‘hard’.

IN his popular column, ‘SILKS & SADDLES,’ published in the NORTH QUEENSLAND REGISTER, respected racing writer, TERRY BUTTS, questions how the new regime at Racing Queensland can downgrade and reduce prizemoney for meetings in the north whilst supporting $5 million of industry funds being poured into the Magic Millions Day at the Gold Coast in January.

Butts also reveals another incident involving the ‘brave’ corporate bookmakers who have closed down the account of a punter simply because he was proving too successful.
