WE also received this email from JACK T who is obviously far from happy about the situation involving Ben Currie. For legal reasons there were parts of what he wrote that we were not prepared to publish but here are excerpts which hopefully gets his message across:
‘THERE needs to be some explaining done by QRIC’s Kim Kelly as to how this whole Ben Currie charade is being allowed to take place.
It is alleged Ben Currie has been training in Toowoomba for near on two years with the full knowledge of the QRIC.
There have been numerous complaints made to QRIC with indisputable audio recorded evidence of such with the QRIC doing nothing.
Now it needs to be remembered, Ben Currie has no license of any type. So how has this been able to take place? Some might even accuse the QRIC of aiding & abetting this serious breach of the Australian Rules of Racing.
With Ben Currie’s record of rule breaches, hence disqualifications, how has he been allowed dispensation to be the Operations Manager of his father’s stable and then allowed this unlicensed ‘Partnership’ (Currie’s word used in a recent stable release) with Healey to proceed without any formal registration as numerous other stables have been required to do?
If Ben was just the operations manager, now sacked by Billy Healey, why is Currie Racing putting out a release stating they have a possible back-up plan in place?
All owners must have agreed to the transfer to Healey Racing, so who is training these horses?
Why was it necessary for Currie Racing to release a stable statement since Currie Racing is officially retired?
Who is actually training these (former) Mark Currie runners?
Let’s not forget, Ben Currie has zero required licenses.
We believe that Ben Currie is getting desperate.
No registered trainer (in their right mind) will take on the Gingerbread Man. Is he attempting to invent his own trainer back at his old home base of Toowoomba?
A former associate with the Mark Currie stable, who isn’t even licensed to train at this stage, last week advertised for a stablehand and trackwork rider in Toowoomba. Will Ben by the operations manager yet again? Is this the alternative plan or are their two trainers – one in Toowoomba and another at the Sunshine Coast that will step into the breach left vacant by Healey?
Honestly, WTF is going on here, only in Queensland.
