ONE-SIDED MURDOCH MEDIA COVERAGE OF RACINGNSW v ATC COURT BATTLE

The nature of considered-news in the mainstream crowds out things the wider community might also like said.

This did not make the cut:

THAT’S RACING’ IN NSW

AN internecine battle should not have been fought, at great expense, in the courts (“RacingNSW scores win in battle to sack ATC board”, 20 June).

The racing industry, as a whole, was the loser – no one won.

PETER MAIR wrote: ‘What parent would not lay down the law to settle a sibling squabble in-house, when the alternative is the whole family loses, paying unnecessary legal costs.

Avoiding this costly court process, by clarifying any confusion in the law, was always open to the NSW Government. It could have just signalled its intention to give RacingNSW authority over the ATC.

We all might ask why it did not.’

PS: Offering the comment to the Murdoch Media would be fanciful.
