THE newly appointed Racing Queensland Limited (RQL) board today met with representatives of the Queensland Country Racing Committee (QCRC).

Consistent with the Government’s policy, country racing is high on the agenda of the board of RQL and Mr Greg Hallam was appointed to be the RQL board representative on the QCRC committee.

Mr Hallam is the chief executive of the Queensland Local Government Association and his connection with rural Queensland will hold him in good stead for his QCRC role.

“Mr Hallam has worked closely with local councils in all areas of Queensland and his knowledge and experience with local communities will be an asset,” said RQL chairman Kevin Dixon.

The QCRC today presented initial recommendations to the RQL board.

“The board of RQL will evaluate these recommendations and look forward to working with the QCRC to progress country racing in Queensland.”
