ENGLISH trainer Ian Williams was thrilled with the appearance of his Emirates Melbourne Cup hope Munsef when he saw him for the first time in three weeks at Sandown this morning.
Williams, who arrived in Melbourne last night (Thursday) on his first visit to Australia, said the

RACING Victoria Limited (RVL) stewards today conducted veterinary examinations on three horses at the Macedon stables of trainer John Sadler.
The stable’s three Emirates Melbourne Cup entrants C’est La Guerre, Zipping and Efficient were inspected by three veterinarians, two from Racing Victoria Limited (RVL), Dr Paul O’Callaghan and Dr Geoff Hazard, as well as equine specialist Dr Chris Whitton from Melbourne University.

BEST WORK BY GODOLPHIN IMPORT SINCE ARRIVING IN AUSTRALIA
GODOLPHIN'S Emirates Melbourne Cup contender Kirklees caught the eye with his best gallop since arriving in Melbourne at Sandown this morning.
Ridden by race jockey Kerrin McEvoy, Kirklees moved off from the 1400 metres and steadily
increased his tempo, running the last 1200 metres in 1:16 and sprinting home the final 400 metres
in 24 seconds.
BRENT EVANS PLEADS GUILTY TO BANNED SUBSTANCE IN URINE TEST
RACING Victoria stewards have suspended top apprentice, Brent Evans, for two months after he provided a urine sample that contained a banned substance.
Evans, formerly of Queensland, pleaded guilty to a breach of the rules for having provided a sample which was found upon analysis to contain the banned substances - d, lamphetamine and l-methamphetamine.
