OUR theme – THE GOOD, THE BAD & THE UGLY side of what has happened in racing over the past week continues in the Wednesday Whinge which feedback suggests is what our readers prefer. It gives us an opportunity to provide some of the racing news that is now harder to access or simply isn’t run in the mainstream media because of space restrictions. That doesn’t mean we are steering clear of allowing our readers their weekly whinge on racing topics. The column this week attracted some interesting comments on Super Saturday from Perth, the usual feedback from stakeholders on racing in Queensland, an interesting take on the NSW Trainers’ Association attitude to the drug rules in Victoria and a host of other features including ‘Cynics Have Their Say’ and ‘Photograph of the Week.’

That doesn’t mean we are steering clear of allowing our readers their weekly whinge on racing topics. The column this week attracted some interesting comments on the Racing NSW plans to hold Championship Week next autumn for an obscene amount of money contributed by the State Government. There are also some interesting items relating to racing in Queensland along with our popular new feature: ‘The Cynics Have Their Say.’

The column this week largely has a Melbourne Cup week theme but our new feature: The Cynics Have Their Say attracted a strong response. Racing Queensland also responded to an inquiry from a reader last week concerning a contract for a south-east Queensland club and whether tenders were called.
